Follow the Flame

His identity kept top secret by a mirrored visor, ‘The Flame’ is taking on a year of gruelling physical challenges to raise money for the Firefighters Charity and, as well as the helmet, he is wearing a full fire kit complete with breathing apparatus!

Despite not knowing the true identity of this anonymous supporter, The Flame attracts lots of new fans across the country and has even had interest from Top Gear as the message spreads of Flame’s likeness to The Stig!

The Flame has already completed a number of challenges across the UK since he began on 4th May 2015, which coincided with International Firefighters Day. So far he has run marathons, climbed mountains, taken the Towerthon stair challenge (530 steps in 5mins 32secs!) and most recently endured Hell Runner, a 12 mile trail run on army and tank range at Longmoor Army Camp, Hampshire with mud, hills, ice, and puddles up to his neck!

All this while wearing a kit which was kindly donated by our garment partners Bristol Uniforms and made from none other than Titan 1220, a Hainsworth Technology! The Flame has credited the kit for its durability throughout his challenges as it has been through snow in -5 degrees, heat conditions over 30 degrees and everything in between, calling it ‘unbelievably versatile’.

The Flame has so far managed to raise over £1400 for the charity which provides support to serving and retired members of the UK Fire & Rescue Services through dedicated rehabilitation centres and in their homes. We want to help Flame reach his £9999 target so we will be supporting him throughout the rest of his challenges this year.

You can keep up to date on all the challenges by following The Flame on Facebook: The Flame Challenge and Twitter: @TheFlame999 (#FollowTheFlame).
